Hi there and welcome back to another one of my blogs for term 4. Our new PBL driving question for this term is " How can I celebrate who I am?". I'm very excited for what this PBL question can make me learn.
How do you celebrate who you are?
I was a pupil at St Francis of Assisi School and this blog is where I shared my learning. This blog has been archived, no further content will be uploaded or added. You are welcome to continue viewing posts, however commenting has been disabled.

Sub Artifact
Hello and welcome back to another one of my blog. For our sub artefact, we made business cards. The business cards had what we were doing and what the learning was behind it. It then had our emails on it too.
Have you ever made a business card before?

PBL
Hi there and welcome back to another one of my blogs. Yesterday, Kaupeka and Tumu showcased what they did for the whole term. My group thought that there wouldn't be enough space in the future for houses so instead of cutting more trees down, we could dig down and make an underground system that is liveable. My group did a project based on an underground system which would have houses and roads.
What do you think?

Term 3 PBL
Term 3 PBL
Hi there and welcome back to my blog. For this term, we have a new PBL driving question. What will the future ask of us? Our class has been discussing about our question. We got put into groups of 4 and we discussed about the top 5 biggest problems in our world. The problems that we discussed were Global Warming, Poverty, and more. We watched videos on the idea too.
For the robots, we watched some videos and there was a video where a robot named Sophia is singing. We discussed about what jobs in the future could be taken if we made more robots. We watched videos on the idea too. We went to a website where you had to put a job in and you would see the percentage of robots taking over that job. We then got given a padlet where we had to write things on it. The first question was " What makes us different to robots " and the other question was "What skillsets will be valued in the future ".
Have you done something like this?

PBL Reflection
For this term for PBL. Flynn and I did a podcast about racism.
I think that Flynn and I did really good for this terms PBL.
We got really good information and research. We worked really hard as well
because we used clear voices, we got the interview with Finn.
I think that we could’ve done better but I think this was very good too.
I am proud of what we worked really hard for this term.
If you would like to see the video, here is the link. I hope you enjoy.

For this term, our PBL was based on Discrimination. Flynn and I decided to do a podcast about racism. You should come and listen

Term 2 Project Based Learning
Hello.
For this term, we have to answer our PBL driving question and the driving question is a big problem around the world. Our driving question is how to stand up against discrimination.
Here are some questions and here are my answers.
Here are some questions and here are my answers.
- What kind of types are there for discrimination? - Racism, Ageism, Sexism, Ablesim and Religious Discrimination.
- What are Human Rights? - Human rights is something that every human has. They have the right to do something and not be controlled by someone else.
- How can you stand up to Discrimination? - Don't be a bystander, be an upstander. If you see anyone of the discrimination, you should stand up to them and say that's not right. You could persuade some people into being kind and loving.
I will now talk about the impacts that some of these discrimination's have had on the world.
In the 50s to 60s, there was a time called segregation. That meant that all the black people would not be as equal to the white people. That would mean that a black person would not be able to sit on a bench or be in a restaurant where there were white people inside. Now, Segregation is no more but if we keep being racist to one another, Segregation could come back. No matter what colour you are, black, white, brown or any colour, you're human no matter what and you should be proud of where you're from and what country you represent.
Throughout our history of our world, we have been fighting against another type of discrimination named sexism. Sexism is when one gender is more privileged than the other. There have been many stereotypes about women saying that they are not able to play sports or they're not as fast as men or as strong as them. There have been stereotypes about how women should be paid less then men.
There are stereotypes for toys for children and stereotypes for women jobs and men jobs. There are gender stereotypes for sports as well. In my opinion, I think that these stereotypes should stop because I believe that all men and women are equal to one another and men should not be more privileged just because they're men.
We will now talk about ageism.
Ageism is when you judge someone just by their age. Many people in the world have been stopped just for their age when their doing something good. People in the world are shutting down young people's potential just because of their age. In my opinion, I think that people should have a say in anything that should include them no matter what age they are.
In our world, there is something called a disability. Many people in the world were born with a disability but it doesn't let them down. People in the world are taking advantage of disabled people and making fun of them, not letting them have the same privilege as other people. People are treating disabled people differently from others just because of their disability. I think that no matter what disability you are, you should never be treated differently from other people.
I'm now gonna talk about religious discrimination. Religious Discrimination is when you make fun of someones Religion. Countries around the world have different kinds of religions and some people don't believe in them. People make fun of religions from other countries but I think that you should be able to believe in any religion because you have the right to.
What can you do to stand up to one of these discrimination's?
