Reading W9

 Reading W9

What's up bloggers and welcome back to another one of my blogs. This week for reading, we had to do some synthesising. We had to choose characters from the novels that we were reading and break their story down and what they are in the story, who they are and their actions. If you want to see what I did, here's a screenshot of it but if you want to see more, click on the link below.

Writing W8 T3

 Writing W8 T3

What's up bloggers and welcome back to another one of my blogs for the term. For writing this week, we had to do an info-graphic on one of the 4 goals that we did our speech on. I did my info-graphic on No Poverty. The info-graphic had to consist of 1 graph to represent your information and  2 other images that represent your information. You had to include some facts in there too. Here is my work below.

Have you ever done an info-graphic before and if so, what was it about?

Maths W5 T3

 Maths W5 T3

Hey bloggers and welcome back to another one of my blogs for the week. In maths, we learnt about percentages again. There were 3 questions and 2 extensions. If you would like to answer the questions, here they are.

Question 1

Mereana buys the latest i-phone 12 for $1420.00 after getting a 15%

discount. How much did the i-phone 12 cost before the discount?

Question 2:

Brent knows that Mr Williams is taking rugby training on Thursday, and so

goes to Rebel Sport to get the best shoulder pads, mouth guard and head

gear he can find!

Each item costs $47.00. They have a protective gear set which includes all

three items that cost $155.00, but is on special with a 10% discount. What

is the cheapest option for Brent?

Question 3:

Part 1: Beth, Cleo and Grace have been asked to research Electric Bikes so

that the school can buy one for a teacher to use when they are on ‘bike

track’ duty at lunchtimes. They find a beautiful rainbow colored one with a

flashing red light, an air horn and a microphone and speaker. It costs

$5750 after a 13% discount is applied. How much should they tell Ms Earl

the school needs for this bike?

Part 2: Ms Earl is thrilled with the bike that Beth, Cleo and Grace have

chosen, and decides that as well as one for the duty teacher, that Shane

should have one to ride around on for his caretaker duties! If the school

buys two, the discount is 25% off the total price. When Ms Earl finds out

the price of two bikes, she is not so happy. Why?

What's your favourite type of strategy in maths?

Hey bloggers and welcome back to another one of my blogs. For writing this week, we had to finish off our speeches. If you don't know what we're writing our speeches about, we're writing our speeches on 4 problems in the world. No Poverty, Quality Education, Zero Hunger and Health and Well-being.

What're your thoughts on speeches and these 4 problems?

Math W4 T3

 Math W4

Hey there and welcome back to another one of my blogs for the week. For Maths this week, our goal was Solve problems with fractions, decimals, proportions and ratios using a broad range of strategies (Addition & Subtraction PV Decimal) & (Express remainders as fractions, decimal or whole numbers) Knowledge: (Convert decimals, fractions & %s). Pretty much, we learnt about percentages. I don't really like percentages that much but I'm fine with it. Did you know that percent means of hundred?

Per = of

Cent = 100

Cent is 100 because cent is actually a short version of century.

What're your thoughts on percentages?

Writing W4 T3

Writing W4 T3

Hey there and welcome back to another one of my blogs for the week. This week for writing, we had to keep writing about our persuasive text that I talked about in my last blog.  Here's what I've written so far.

I think that poverty is one of the greatest problems that the world faces today. The pay gap for different countries compared to the countries that are living in poverty is massive. Technology should be spread into those countries equally. Food should be donated on the daily until those countries can start their own mini garden maybe.

Have you ever wrote a speech and if so, what was it about?

Hola bloggers and welcome back to another one of my blogs. This term, we're doing our speeches so we're doing a bit of early research on persuasive writing. For speeches, we have the choice of writing about 1 of 4 problems in the world. The 4 problems that we're writing about are Poverty, Zero Hunger, Good Health And Well-Being and Quality Education. I decided to write about Poverty. If you want to see my writing ( Which isn't done yet ), then click on the link below.

What do you think is a major problem in the world?
