Greatness
LeBron James.
Let me tell you a story about LeBron James, one of the greatest players of all time.
LeBron Raymone James was born on the 30th of december, 1984 in Akron, Ohio in the United states. Him and his mother Gloria lived in Akron, Ohio but kept moving apartments everywhere. It was pretty hard for LeBron when he was younger because he only had his mum to grow up with because LeBrons dad had left him when he was younger. LeBron grew up playing American Football because of a football coach named Bruce Kelker but he changed to Basketball in St Vincent St Mary high school. Throughout high school, LeBron was being recognised from everywhere and big shoe companies. When his high school career ended, he decided to enter the NBA draft at age 19.
When LeBron was younger, he lived with his mother Gloria. When LeBron was in year 4, He lived ⅔ of his life in the car or at friends house but got kicked out on often. While he was in year 4, a football coach named Bruce Kelker who was looking for kids to play football. Bruce Kelker saw a young LeBron playing tag with his friends and asked if anyone wanted to play football. A young LeBron did not know how to play football but he said yes. During the year, LeBron could not go to some of the practices due to his mum not being able to drop him off. When Bruce Kelker heard about that, he told LeBron’s mother Gloria that he would pick LeBron up for practice and even let them stay for the night too. When time grew on, LeBron had gotten to high school and was recognized for his football skills. Throughout high school, LeBron had decided to change sports to basketball. Already, he was getting good because of how strong he was and how he played too. He was being recognized from everywhere, people already started to wonder whether he was the next big one. He was noticed by his massive and explosive dunks on the rim. So much people knew about him that even famous basketball players like Allen Iverson went and watched him play. After his high school career had ended, he decided to enter the NBA draft.
The NBA Commissioner at the time David Stern, started the NBA draft. “ With the first pick of the 2003 NBA draft, the Cleveland Cavaliers select LeBron James from St Vincent St Mary high school “. When LeBron heard those words, he went up on to the stand and shook David Sterns hand. In LeBron’s first year in the NBA, he won rookie of the year and became the first player in the Cavaliers franchise to ever win rookie of the year. During his rookie year, LeBron averaged 20 points, 1 steal, 5 rebounds and 5 assist but sadly missed the playoffs with a record of 35 wins and 47 losses.
With all of his hard work, LeBron made his first finals appearance in 2007 but got swept by the San Antonio Spurs. LeBron stayed in Cleveland for 2 more years and won his first MVP award in 2008 and won back to back in 2009. LeBron got tired of losing in the playoffs so he decided to join the super team Miami Heat in the 2010 offseason.
The 2010 - 2011 season had started and it started with LeBron being in a different team jersey. In his first year with the Miami Heat, there was a massive big three in Miami with LeBron, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. This big three would get the best record in the eastern conference. The Big three got to the NBA finals and went on to face 2007 league MVP Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks. Sadly it was a major upset to LeBron James and the big three because they lost to the Dallas Mavericks, 4 games to 2. This caused a major disrupt in LeBron’s legacy because of how he had a superteam and still lost in the NBA finals. The next season, LeBron came back.
After the Major upset in the last season, LeBron and the big three were determined to come back. Just like last season, LeBron James had gotten back to the NBA finals back to back and won regular season MVP by averaging 27 points, 1 steal, 6 assists and 7 rebounds per game while shooting 53% on Field Goals. LeBron and the Miami Heat had gotten back to the NBA finals again and faced Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder. In this series LeBron and the Miami Heat won. LeBron had won his first championship and he also won Finals MVP. Throughout the next season, LeBron had won regular season MVP again for his 4th MVP award while averaging 26 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assist per game. LeBron and the Miami heat got back to the NBA Finals and picked up one of the greatest 3 point shooters of all time Ray Allen. LeBron and the Miami Heat got to the NBA finals and faced the San Antonio Spurs. The San Antonio Spurs got a series lead over the Miami heat with 3-2. In Game 6, 26 seconds left. Spurs lead by 3 points and Miami need a 3 to tie. “James throws up a three but misses. Rebound Bosh, Passes it out to Ray Allen, his three pointer. BANG!” Mike Breen said. The Game was tied and it went into overtime. The Miami Heat win game 6 and tie the series 3-3. This last game would determine whether LeBron would get his second championship. LeBron did really good in game 7 and helped Miami win the championship. LeBron got back to back Finals MVPs again. In the offseason, LeBron went back to the Cleveland Cavaliers to finish his promise.
The Promise.
LeBron Joined the Cleveland Cavaliers to finish his promise.
Before he joined the Heat, He Promised Cleveland that he would get them a championship, so that’s what he did. In the 2015 season, The Cavs would get to the NBA finals but lose to the Golden State Warriors. But in 2016, they did everything to beat them. In 2016, The Cavs got back to the NBA Finals and had to face the team with the best record in NBA history, The Golden State Warriors. The Warriors had a record breaking 73 wins and 9 losses. Everyone Surely thought that the Warriors would win this series easily but Cleveland would not let that happen. In the Series, The Warriors took an easy 3-1 lead. Cleveland took game 5 and made it 3-2. In game 6, It was in the Cavs Land and Cavs blew out the Warriors 115-101. This made the series 3-3. It was win or go home. Too bad for the Cavs that it was in the Warriors House. It was a close game for every quarter. 1 minute left, the game is tied. Fast Break Situation. Steph curry passes the ball to andre Iguodala. Goes up for the layup. “ Blocked By LeBron James” Mike Breen the Commentator says. LeBron Passes it to Kyrie Irving. 1 on 1 against Kyrie Irving and Steph Curry. Kyrie, Stepback three. Bang. Cavs lead by 3. That three went on to win the series. LeBron and the Cavs became the first ever NBA team to come back from a 3-1 NBA finals lead in history. LeBron completed his promise to Cleveland and was considered the GOAT from many fans.
In the 2018-2019 offseason, LeBron signed with the Los Angeles Lakers for 154M for 4 years.
Right now, LeBron is being a true role model to the Lakers young core and helping them reach their full potential. LeBron is even a mentor to his opponents too. Right now, the Lakers have a record of 30 wins and 34 losses. Right now, Lakers might miss the playoffs if LeBron and the Lakers can’t clutch it. Even if they can’t make the playoffs, LeBron will still be one of the greatest players to ever touch a basketball.
Now Lebron has 4 MVP awards, 3 finals MVP awards, 3 championships, 14 all star selections, 2 all star MVP awards, has won rookie of the year in 2003-2004 and currently is in the top 5 all time for the most scored points and just passed Micheal Jordan for 4th place.. LeBron is a father of 3 great children. The names of the three children are Bryce James, Zhuri James and LeBron James Jr. LeBron has made a great impact on the game of basketball and will always be known as one of the greatest. LeBron was even great off the court as well. LeBron has donated millions to different charities, he has helped the less fortunate and has even opened his own school as well.
That is why I think that LeBron James is great.
I now rest my case.
Who do you think is great?
