Term 3 PBL

Term 3 PBL

Hi there and welcome back to my blog. For this term, we have a new PBL driving question. What will the future ask of us? Our class has been discussing about our question. We got put into groups of 4 and we discussed about the top 5 biggest problems in our world. The problems that we discussed were Global Warming, Poverty, and more. We watched videos on the idea too.

For the robots, we watched some videos and there was a video where a robot named Sophia is singing.  We discussed about what jobs in the future could be taken if we made more robots. We watched videos on the idea too.  We went to a website where you had to put a job in and you would see the percentage of robots taking over that job. We then got given a padlet where we had to write things on it. The first question was " What makes us different to robots " and the other question was "What skillsets will be valued in the future ".

Have you done something like this?

PBL Reflection

For this term for PBL. Flynn and I did a podcast about racism.
I think that Flynn and I did really good for this terms PBL.
We got really good information and research. We worked really hard as well
because we used clear voices, we got the interview with Finn.
I think that we could’ve done better but I think this was very good too.
I am proud of what we worked really hard for this term.
If you would like to see the video, here is the link. I hope you enjoy.

Dianna Isaac Visits

This term, we have weekly visits to Dianna Isaac. Last week, I went to Dianna Isaac. We usually go in groups of 10 - 12 but last week, we only had 9. We have activities that we do at Dianna Isaac and for that session, we did some baking. We baked some lemonade scones and they were super good. While we were waiting for the scones to bake, we talked to the residents that were helping us. When the scones were baked, we went around and offered scones to the residents and most of them ate the scones. We got to eat the scones, some cookies and had Orange Juice on the side. Dianna Isaac was really fun and I hope we can do it again some day.

Have you ever been to a rest home with your class?

Self Portrait

This week, we had to make a self portrait. I decided to have some fun and take a random picture of me and make a self portrait with it. I hope you enjoy it and have fun.

Have you ever made a self portrait before?

PBL

Come and listen to our PBL. There are 4 subjects that we could do. We chose to do one of these. The choices were a Podcast (which I chose to do with my buddy Flynn), there was a drama, another choice was a poetry slam and the last one was a ted talk. For this term, our PBL was based on Discrimination. Flynn and I decided to do a podcast about racism. You should come and listen

Winter Sport

Hi there. Every Thursday, we have something called winter sport. In winter sport, there are 4 sports that you can play. Those sports are Rugby, Football, Netball and Hockey. You get put into teams and you compete with other schools. It's really fun because you get to have fun and make friends and meet new people. It's also really cool because you learn that you have to work as a team and use teamwork.

Does your school do this?

Reading Headlines

Today we had to read some headlines and choose which one we had to focus on and I decided to write from a headline about global warming. This is what we had to do.
I hope you enjoy.
