Stanford Math course

This term and last term, my class has been introduced to a course. I will talk to you about the six lessons.


In lesson 1, we got taught that you don't have to be fast at math but you have to put in a lot of detail into it. You had to type in a response that included a mini paragraph. In Lesson 1, we didn't really do anything because we were still getting introduced to the whole course. We learnt about mistakes and success. To learn, you need to make mistake. Mistakes help your brain adapt and grow more and that will lead to success.

In lesson 2,  we got taught that when you come across a hard question and an easy question, you should choose the hard question. That will make you learn more and more. It will show that you're working very hard to figure out the answer. If you see an easy question that you've done before, choose the hard one because if you do the easy one, there is no learning in it.

In lesson 3, you should always be happy if you make a mistake because that helps your brain work harder and harder. You should always feel comfortable about being wrong because that means that your brain is getting more knowledge. Struggle is key to learning so that you can know where you're at for learning and you can know what you can do next.

In lesson 4, we have learnt about algebra and many more. We have been learning about growth Mindsets and Fixed Mindsets. We have also learnt about Number flexibility as well. Mathematical connections are very important in maths. Reasoning is needed in maths because you would need to show people how you did it and what lead you there.

For lesson 5, the course talked about making sense, looking for the big idea, using intuition and more. You should always look for the big idea because the journey to finding the idea will help your brain get smarter and smarter. You should always represent because even if you get the answer wrong, that means you're struggling and that means you're getting better and smarter.

For lesson 6, we learnt about the sequence of number and spirals as well. We learnt that if you solve an answer, you should strive for more answers because there might be more and more to learn. I learnt that there is maths in Juggling as well.

Plastics at Tech

 HI! This term, we have been doing plastics at Technology. We had made a swirly wirly. We had to choose the acrylic that we wanted. We first started disc sanding the acrylic to make the edges and corners smooth into a circular shape. We then started making the edges cleaner. We then started buffing the edges with the buffing machine.  After that, we peel off the protective coating on both sides of the acrylic and then we put it inside the machine that melts it. After that, we grab the acrylic  from machine and twist into a swirly wirly.

My Completed Narrative

Hi there, It's Brent and welcome back to my blog. This blog is to show my completed narrative writing. 
My Narrative is about the future and it's technology. There is technology that lets you clone meat from a cell from the animal and a war breaks out because the country didn't share the technology with the rest of the world. Something bad happens in the process of cloning meat.
