Where are you from?

Kamusta, my name is Brent and today I will be telling you all about my culture. I am from the Philippines in Cebu city. In Cebu, we have a festival called the Sinulog festival. We celebrate it because in the 16th century, that was the time when Filipinos embraced Christianity. To celebrate the Sinulog festival, We often dance around and have a massive feast.

If you move into a new house in the Philippines, you often have a house blessing. A house blessing is when you move into a new house and contact a priest to bless your house with holy water. The priest blesses every spot in the house. The reason why we do it is so that we can stay safe in it and that if there is an emergency, the house won't be broken.

We have a desert called "Halo Halo". It is a well known desert all around the country. The things that are inside of halo halo is Evaporated milk, crushed ice, sweetened beans, fruit slices and a scoop of ice cream on top which most Filipinos like Ube and many more.  I recommend you should try it if you have the chance to find it in Christchurch. We often eat a lot of meat.
I hope that you have learnt a lot of stuff.
See you next time!

Fun day at clip 'n climb

I couldn't believe that I was doing this. I then heard a scream and it was a girl falling from the top. Turns out that her harness was attached and she was safe. Yesterday on the 9th of May, my class went to Clip 'n climb. I was pretty excited but a little nervous knowing that it was gonna be heights. Luckily this wasn't my first time at Clip 'n climb so I knew what to do. They then started to tell us the safety rules but most people knew it. At last the fun began. I first started off with the face to face climbing where a two people would race each other to the top and the first one to reach there would win. I did that with my friend and it was pretty fun. After 1 hour of fun and climbing, my class had to go back to school. I knew that it was a fun and cool day of school because we didn't have to learn about anything at all for one day! Anyways you have now reached the end of my blog post but I hope you enjoyed my blog. I also have a question for you. If you were at clip 'n climb, would you be scared?

Blog Profile - Public vs Private

All about me

Hello everybody. I am new to this school and there’s a lot of things you don’t know about me, but I’m gonna tell you something about me in this story.

It all started when my dad told me about the sport basketball when I was 6 and after that i started playing basketball everyday at the court with my brother and my dad. I forgot to tell you that I’m full Filipino as well. When I grow up I want to be a basketball player. I also want to tell you that my favourite food is spicy noodles, sushi,Rice and Egg.  My favourite cartoons are Gravity Falls and Adventure Time. Anyways back to the basketball, I always try to be the best I can on the court and to be a good team mate so I can get the player of the game award and I have once got it. I also have a question for you! What sport do you play?

So yeah that's my story so thanks for reading it!
